Gravity Falls Challenge - Day 04: Fan Theory or Headcanon
In “Tourist Trapped” Mabel was boy crazy and really enthusiastic about having an “Epic Summer Romance.” But since the Norman Gnome Incident she became kind of traumatized of any other possible romantic relations. Or at least super turned off from getting a boyfriend anytime soon.
I’ve also got a theory I might as well share here: Gideon really is psychic. The amulet gave him telekinetic powers but he does have the natural ability to sort of… suggest things in people. Like a mild form of mind control. The part in “‘Lil Ol’ Me” when he tell the audience to stand up and Dipper does so, is part of that. The reason why Mabel couldn’t really say ‘no’ to him (besides all that other metaphorical and circumstantial hoo-ha) and the part when Gideon demands Soos tell him where Stan is in “Little Dipper” and Soos immediately complies, are because of Gideon’s natural abilities.
